You’re working in the neighbourhood, but the neighbours don’t know it.
Your van is parked outside, your practice has just opened or you’re organising something locally. Yet the households around you don’t know what you could do for them. And they’re the most relevant people of all: they live round the corner, see your work and know your neighbours. A handwritten card reaches exactly those addresses.
- Leaflets go straight into the recycling, unread.
- The neighbours don’t know you’re working round the corner.
- You drive home without an extra job on the same street.
- The neighbours know your name, see your work round the corner and know how to reach you.
Around a project, your premises or a local moment.
Every neighbourhood campaign starts with one address. What you’re doing there shapes your message.
You’re already working on the street
For roofers, installers and landscapers. A roofer replaces a roof and reaches out to the households around it: beforehand as an announcement, during the job to deliver yourself, or afterwards with the result as a reference.
- The proof is round the corner
- Extra jobs in the same street
- Automatically from your schedule
You’re new to the area
For practices, shops and salons. A new physiotherapy practice introduces itself to local households, with an invitation to come and meet them or an opening offer.
- Covers exactly your own catchment area
- More personal than a door-to-door leaflet
- Repeat it every season
Something is happening in the neighbourhood
For estate agents, hospitality and sports clubs. An estate agent holds an open house and invites the people living nearby. Or a restaurant celebrates an anniversary with the street.
- A concrete reason to respond
- Neighbours often know your next customer
- Send once, on a fixed date

Not just another advertising leaflet, but a genuinely handwritten card.
A leaflet is spotted as advertising at a glance. A card written with a real pen, addressed to the residents and about their street, does get looked at. Real ink on sturdy paper, with a message about their own neighbourhood.
That’s how your card stands out in the post and gets kept until something needs doing. Not a handwriting font, but real ink on paper.
Printed flyer
- Spotted as print and binned
- Lands among the leaflets and junk mail
- The same leaflet everywhere
- No reason to respond now
- Delivering them yourself takes a day, or they turn up whenever the distributor gets round to it
Handwritten card
- Written with a real pen, so people actually look at it
- Stands out in the post
- A separate offer for each neighbourhood
- A neighbourhood offer and a QR code to book an appointment
- Scheduled and delivered before you arrive, with no door-knocking
Here’s what your first campaign could look like.
From one roofing job to new enquiries in the same street.
A roofer is replacing a roof on Lindelaan next month. Two weeks beforehand, the surrounding households receive a handwritten card with a neighbourhood offer and a QR code to book an inspection.

What does a neighbourhood campaign bring in?
Don’t count on a single campaign; think in series. One neighbourhood brings in nothing, another brings in two jobs. Average it over ten neighbourhoods and you’ll see what it really brings in.
What else you get out of it
- Local brand awarenessyour name lands on the doormat, even with people who don’t need anything yet
- Trustneighbours see you already work for people just round the corner
- Word of moutha striking card gets passed on and talked about
- Future jobsthe card gets kept until something does need doing
Work it out across several campaigns
– extra margin
– jobs bring in –. The cards cost – (– cards at –). That’s – your investment.
An example, not a promise: enter your own average. Not every campaign brings in a job straight away; across several neighbourhoods it evens out. Price per card: postcard A6 in the Netherlands at the total volume, excl. VAT.

Do I need to supply the addresses myself?
No. Just enter the address of your job or premises, or have your CRM pass it to our webhook. We make sure the neighbours get the card.
Can I choose which addresses get a card?
Yes. You set the radius around your job and choose which addresses to include. You can also automate it: your CRM sends just the address and the date, and Lightr finds the addresses based on your filter.
What does a neighbourhood campaign cost?
You pay per card, on the same volume tiers as a postcard: writing, printing and postage are all included. See our pricing, or work out how many jobs you need to cover the cost of the campaign.
When does the card arrive?
Schedule the campaign so the cards land 1 to 3 weeks before your job. That way the neighbours already know who you are by the time you’re in the street.
Can I automate neighbourhood campaigns?
Yes. Your CRM sends the job address and date to our webhook. Lightr finds the addresses based on your filter and schedules the cards.
Can I deliver the cards myself?
Yes. The cards are then delivered to your address in one go, and you pop them through the letterboxes yourself while you’re in the street. The card, your van and the job all turn up together.
Do you check against Postfilter?
Yes. We skip any addresses registered with Postfilter (the Dutch opt-out register for addressed mail).
Can I see which address responds?
No, and that’s deliberate. A neighbourhood card is addressed to the residents, not to an individual, so we don’t track which address responds. You’ll see in your own diary whether it brings in extra work.
Can anyone start a neighbourhood campaign?
Neighbourhood campaigns are still in BETA and are switched on per organisation. Get in touch and we’ll check whether they’re available for you.
