How much text fits on a card?
A pen needs room, and the handwriting has to stay legible. That’s why less text fits on a card than you might expect.
The numbers are a guide: blank lines take up space too. The platform shows a preview for each recipient, so you know everything fits.

Is it really handwritten?
Lightr writes every card on paper with a real pen. No human writer is involved, just a real pen with real ink.
What paper do you use?
On sturdy 350 gsm card.
Can I use my own handwriting?
Yes. Digitising your own handwriting costs a one-off €100 if other users can use it too, or €400 if it’s for your use only, excl. VAT. See your own handwriting.
How quickly will it arrive?
Orders of fewer than 2,500 cards are dispatched within 2 to 3 working days and delivered within 7 days of purchase.
Does the QR code cost extra?
No. The QR code is free, and it’s up to you whether it goes on the card.
Will I see the card before it’s sent?
Yes. The platform shows you a preview for every recipient before you order.
Can I see an example first?
Yes. A sample pack and a test card are both free, and they’ll be with you within 7 days.
What does a handwritten card cost?
You pay per card, with no subscription. The price depends on format, quantity and delivery; work it out instantly on the pricing page.
